Seminar Point Cloud Processing op 13 maart 2018

Point Cloud Processing 2018 is a 1-day seminar on the latest developments in point cloud processing. It will be held on 13 March 2018 at the Delft University of Technology and is organised on the occasion of the PhD defense of Ravi Peters. One day later he will be defending his dissertation titled "Geographical point cloud modelling with the 3D medial axis transform", which is part of the NWO-funded 3DSM project.

PCP2018 is a joint event with EuroSDR, the VOLTA project and Geonovum and is hosted by the 3D geoinformation group at TU Delft.

The objective of this seminar is share knowledge about exciting developments in point cloud processing. Topics of interest are:

  • acquisition & visualisation
  • data structures & management,
  • segmentation & classification,
  • object detection & reconstruction,
  • applications & use-cases from practice.

We are excited to announce that the following speakers have already confirmed their participation (and for some we already have a preliminary topic):

  • Norbert Pfeifer, TU Wien on Point Cloud acquisition via calibration to classification
  • Tom van der Putte, CycloMedia Technology
  • Fabio Remondino, FBK on Point Cloud acquisition and structuring
  • Sander Oude Elberink, ITC on Fusion of ALS/MLS and large scale topography (BGT)
  • Shayan Nikoohemat, ITC on Exploiting indoor mobile laser scanning trajectories for semantic interpretation of point clouds
  • Roderik Lindenbergh, TU Delft on Change detection in the built-up area
  • Liangliang Nan, TU Delft on Polygonal surface reconstruction from point clouds
  • Ravi Peters, TU Delft on Building detection with the 3D medial axis transform
  • Jinhu Wang, TU Delft on Object detection on highways with MLS point clouds

We have also reserved some space in the programme for other short presentations from academia, government and industry. If you are interested in speaking at PCP2018 please fill out the presentation submission form before 20 February 2018.

The full programme will be announced at a later date.

Anyone with an interest in point cloud processing is welcome to attend this event free of charge. You can register using the registration form.
