On October 3rd 2025 a kick-off meeting was held with over 50 representatives from government, business, knowledge institutions, and professionals to develop a vision for public-private partnerships on geospatial and societal challenges. The NCG is also involved.
The International Association of Geodesy (IAG) has launched a new website. This new site focuses on news, events, vacancies and member information. With this new platform, the IAG wants to make geodesy more visible and accessible to a wider audience. You can sign up for various mailing lists via the site.

Andrea Griffioen has won the GIN/NCG Bachelor Thesis Award 2024 for her thesis ‘Introduction Hydrographic Education in South Africa’. Her thesis was selected as the winner by the jury because of its strong social relevance.
During the NCG symposium on July 3 the Prof. J.M. Tienstra Research Prize 2024 was awarded to dr. ir. Hossein Aghababaei, who works at the Faculty of Geo-Information Sciences and Earth Observation of the University of Twente.
Award given for exceptional contributions and international leadership in geodetic sciences, satellite positioning and navigation.
