NCG Symposium 2020

NCG Symposium 2020

5 November 2020
"Theory meets Practice"

Notice: the event will be fully online

On Thursday, 5 November the Netherlands Center for Geodesy and Geo-Informatics (NCG) organizes its annual Symposium. This year's symposium is a joint event together with:

The symposium is free of charge and intended for all researchers and students of Dutch universities, academies, companies, government agencies and institutes that are active in the field of Geodesy and Geo-Informatics. The symposium is also free of charge for everyone else who is interested, for instance professionals from the commercial and operative area. This announcement is directed specifically at active researchers in the field (including doctoral students and postdocs), with the aim to facilitate the exchange and discussion about research results and activities in the two domains mentioned above. Recently graduated MSc students are also welcome to contribute with a presentation. This year, both the Baarda Lecture and the Tienstra research award are included in the plenary programme.

For your presentation, we would like to invite you to submit the title, author name and short summary (about 5-10 lines with 1 or 2 illustrations) by 14 September via EasyChair (details see below). This year there will also be the option to give a demo as part of your presentation, in order to close the gap between theory and practice. For your convenience, a template can be found here: NGC2020Abstracts.docx. The contributions received will be assessed by the program commission and upon acceptance, the authors will be notified about the allocated time slot for their presentation before 25 September. The symposium includes all active research activities in the domain of the Geodesy and Geo-Informatics. We especially ask for presentations of relevant developments and themes, such as:

  • Map Generalization;
  • Multi-scale/vario-scale Representations;
  • Land Administration;
  • 3D Geo-Information;
  • Monitoring;
  • Point Clouds;
  • Indoor Geo-Information;
  • Governance of SDI;
  • Precision Farming and Forestry;
  • Crowd Sourcing;
  • Quality of Crowd Sourced Data;
  • Geo-Data Science;
  • Geo-Ethics/Critical Data Studies;
  • Geo-Marketing;
  • Environment and Geodesy;
  • GNSS;

Submission and reviews will be managed through EasyChair (an online conference management system): NCG2020.

Registration for speakers and participants is now closed.

The full program of the day is announced on this website. The Board of the NCG would like to ask you to spread this announcement within your organisation and to encourage possible candidates for presentations to subscribe. The Board of the NCG foundation is looking forward to welcoming you on Thursday, 5 November at this online event.
